"Leadership That Shows Up"
Vigo County deserves leadership that treats public dollars with the same care families use at their own kitchen tables. I believe in budgeting that is disciplined, transparent, and focused on long‑term stability. Every decision should reflect respect for taxpayers and a commitment to building a stronger future.
Our county grows when our neighborhoods grow. I’m committed to supporting programs and partnerships that strengthen families, improve public safety, and create opportunities for young people. Thoughtful planning today ensures that we’re not passing problems to the next generation but building a community they can be proud of.
Leadership starts with showing up. For more than a decade, I’ve served Vigo County as a coach, mentor, volunteer, and small business owner. I believe in open communication, collaboration across departments, and earning trust through consistent, hands‑on service. My goal is simple: listen to the community, work with the community, and lead for the community.

“LT Thompson, an individual who has not only devoted his life to assisting people to improve their health through wellness but has mentored so many children who would otherwise not have the means to participate in organized sports or other community events. Thompson has spent hours coaching and training kids in sports and in life. He often transports them to games and practices and pays their participation fees out of his own pocket to get them involved. He is a wonderful role model to many, and his mentorship has provided guidance and support to children who needed a positive role model in their lives.”

- Outside of work and volunteering, LT, a dedicated candidate for the Vigo County Council, enjoys youth mentoring, golfing, and coaching football — but his favorite time is with his wife of 13 years and their two children: Jayden, who is 20 and attending ISU, and T, who is 15 and attends Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
- Six years of coaching experience at the Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club have prepared me well for my role as the 2025 Football coach at Terre Haute South High School, where I serve as the Varsity Safety Coach and Freshman Head Coach. I am committed to mentoring young men, which I do as a member of the Black Men Breakfast Club.
